Max Lovell is a Director of Photography based in Chester, working across the United Kingdom and internationally. With over a decade behind the camera and on set, he has developed a visual language rooted in lighting, considered composition, emotionally driven camera movement,and an instinct for the decisive moment.

Max Started his career with almost a decade dedicated to travel photography, capturing the essence of over 60 countries through his lens. After earning a master's degree in Cinematography from Met Film School in London, he spent nearly another decade in the lighting department on a variety of major projects. His portfolio includes  films such as "Mary Poppins," "Death on the Nile," "Mickey 17," and the recently completed "Thursday Murder Club," as well as esteemed HETV series like "The Crown," "Star Wars: Andor," and "House of the Dragon." His cinematic style has grown from his unique world view and photographing people and their stories all over the world, from all walks of life. Through years of travel and on-set experience, Max has remained dedicated to storytelling, constantly refining techniques to evoke the world's philosophies and beauty through visuals. As a cinematographer, he aims to infuse his work with deep symbolism and artistry, capturing the world’s essence through his unique perspective. Max has also taken on the role of gaffer for TV shows like "Extraordinary 2" and independent features such as "Bull," "La Boheme," and the recent "The Ceremony." His shooting work extends to numerous shorts and mini-documentaries. Along side his on set experience  with some of the greats in cinema he has a strong understanding of any film set and finds comfort in the set environment. A less conventional route breaths less conventional ideas.
